For
the last decade, the majority of vehicles have been made to go over
100,000 miles as long as you do the maintenance on the car, such
as oil changes and recommended services. Remember its never to late
to start even if you haven't been exactly keeping up with them.
You can still extend the vehicle's life by starting now. |
| |
Here
is a great plan for vehicles from 2000 to present
-
Change
oil every 3,000 miles if you are using regular motor oil or
7,500 miles if you vehicle uses synthetic motor oil. If you
aren't certain which one your vehicle uses you can consult your
owners manual or stop in and we'll know what you need.
-
Keep
up the recommended services from the manufacturer. If you haven't
been doing this or aren't sure if this has ever been done, then
start at the next service interval and extend the life of your
vehicle starting now.
-
Have
a tune up every 30,000 miles even if the manufacturer says once
at 100,000 miles. By doing this, you will ensure that all of
the parts and adjustments needed to keep the vehicle running
at its best will be taken care of.
-
The
brakes on a vehicle typically wear around 60,000 miles in the
from and 40, 000 to 50,000 miles in the back depending on how
the vehicle is driven. Having your brakes done will insure your
safety and the safety of your vehicle.
-
Depending
on the quality of the tires on the vehicle they will wear between
30,000 and 60,000 miles. If you notice that your tires look
a bit worn stop in and we can show you how to tell when you
need new tires.
-
The
breather system is a part of the vehicle that we noticed many
people tend to overlook. This is an important system on today's
vehicles. When this system clogs up it may cause a heavy oil
leak which can be a costly repair down the road. So once again
prevention can be a great savings to you.
-
Timing
Belts are a good front line of defense if your vehicle happens
to have one. They can need replacement as early as 60,000 miles
and as late as 105,000 miles. We'll check the wear on it every
time the car is in for service to insure that you will never
have any issues that a worn timing belt can cause.
-
Coolant
antifreeze is an critical part of an engine's protection system
as well as transmission and brake fluids. Parrotta's will insure
that your fluids are topped off to appropriate levels and can
keep them healthy and clean so your vehicle will maintain its
long life.
-
With
today's vehicles a good service to perform is to decarbonize
your throttle and intake plenum. This can help with faster starts,
better gas mileage and smoother acceleration.
